Make strategic decisions that will shape the future

Join our team

The Corporate Development team works with the Chief Strategy Office to lead the development and execution of our mergers and acquisitions strategy within TELUS Health. This serves as an important building block for TELUS Health's ambitious growth plan. We support strategic investments in one of TELUS's most innovative growth engines by evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions and key partnerships.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

The Corporate Development team supports a wide range of strategic initiatives related to “inorganic growth” within TELUS Health by way of acquisition, divestiture, joint venture or other strategic initiatives. Our team supports the business unit by leading the development of strategic rationale related to specific opportunities, developing a business case to support the investment, and developing a strategy to realize the benefits to both the business and to our customers. Increasingly, we see international growth, as an opportunity to advance our strategy leveraging a growing global footprint.  You will work closely with business unit leaders to complement existing portfolios, while also developing approaches for pursuing transformative plays that will shape the future direction of TELUS Health.

Here's how
  • Source, vet, and validate strategic opportunities for potential acquisitions, with a particular focus on international opportunities
  • Develop the rationale to support TELUS Health's global growth mandate
  • Assist in the strategic development, assessment and due diligence functions of a transaction, and the preparation of presentations of findings and analysis to senior management
  • Research market opportunities and growth rates for select industries, domains, and regions
  • Support the development of sophisticated financial projections, analysis and valuation of inorganic growth opportunities including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other initiatives
  • Work closely with corporate finance teams to develop budgets for business units related to the transaction
  • Assist in preparing Legal Agreement schedules based on due diligence findings
  • Facilitate the development of due diligence reports prepared by transaction team members
  • Lead ad-hoc report preparation related to transactions for various levels of the organization
This is what you are bringing to the table:
  • 5-7 years’ experience leading or supporting M&A transactions, specifically with exposure to international transactions
  • Broad knowledge of the health care market in Canada and globally
  • An understanding of the uniqueness of healthcare businesses and their operation in jurisdictions outside of Canada
  • Strong financial acumen with an excellent understanding of basic financial concepts
  • Ability to generate insights and recommendations from data
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial statements (ratio analysis, performance return measures) and basic understanding of financial valuation methodologies (discounted cash flow, payback period, comparable company analysis)
  • Solid financial modelling skills including ability to develop driver based business case analysis including NPV and ROI analysis
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills with the ability to present strategic options in a clear concise manner for maximum impact
  • Ability to work under pressure and make modifications in a dynamic environment
  • Able to engage a diverse set of stakeholders and experts in sharing information to overcome obstacles and achieve objectives
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • University Degree, preferably MBA
Great-to-haves
  • Bilingual in both French and English (written and spoken)
  • Familiarity and comfort with working in a matrix corporate structure
