Join our team 

We are the Payment Experience team under Finance Assurance & Operations. Our team manages all customer payments across TELUS. This multi-faceted opportunity will keep you on your toes and leans on your ability to effectively communicate and establish/maintain good working relationships with various teams. 

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together 

As a trusted partner and subject matter expert, you will leverage your strong business and financial acumen to lead and direct team members and manage stakeholders as it pertains to payments, reconciliations, and escalations in order to honour a positive payment experience for our customers.

You will take a lead role on projects impacting the Payment Experience team to ensure the end-to-end flow of the payment lifecycle. For example, ensuring client payments are applied correctly on the customer’s account, as well as, in the financial statements. 

You will also manage, support, and motivate our offshore teams to not only meet our SLAs but to be creative in achieving processing efficiencies. 

Here's how 
  • Prepare GL reconciliations for Unapplied Cash (large volume and dollar)
  • Prepare GL reconciliations for Bank reconciliations
  • Prepare accruals for bank and credit card fees
  • Lead and support TI reconciliation teams on the timely resolution of variances, new method & procedures, SOX compliance
  • Support Enterprise projects as it relates to the end to end Payment Experience
  • Resolve customer payment escalations timely
  • Being the Payments subject matter expert
  • Strategically evolve our complex payment and reconciliation processes
You're the missing piece of the puzzle 
  • 5+ years of accounting / reconciliation experience
  • Experience with SAP (billing/finance)
  • Working level knowledge of billing system (KB, CES9/CORE, SAP, TNS, Kenan)
  • Knowledge of Canadian Banking/Credit Card industry
  • Problem solving and using your professional judgement skills to resolve issues/problems
  • Technical aptitude to learn and maintain the team’s reconciliation software
  • CPA designation or equivalent experience 
Great to have
  • Experience with ReconNET or similar reconciliation software
